Whatever your global politics, it’s hard to deny the sublime beauty of Russian music. Join us here at St. Peter’s by the Sea on March 30 at 2pm for a wonderful concert by the St. Petersburg Men’s Ensemble, the powerhouse a cappella male quartet. Since 2003, ensemble have shared their musical gifts, warmth and humor with audiences around the globe. The repertoire encompasses various musical periods and styles, from ancient Russian chants to chorales of Western and East European masters to modern contemporary. Kirill Sokolov, Sergey Shapinsky, Vadim Smanster, and Andrei Volikov, who comprise the quartet have performed in churches and concert halls around the world for the past 16 years. These concerts reflect their culture and heritage, with a balance of sacred songs by Russian composers and Russian folk songs. There is no charge for admission, but a free-will offering will be taken up. Please be generous.
