Monarch butterflies are an iconic insect, a helpful pollinator, and a special visitor to the central coast of California, where they migrate by the thousands every winter. Learn how to provide habitat for monarch butterflies all year long at your home, school, or business. No matter how small or large your space, you can do something! Join Jessica Griffiths on Sunday February 13th, from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM for an informative program where she shares information about monarchs, and provides a host of tips and recommendations for how you can create monarch habitat. After the presentation, join Jessica for an in-person stroll around the botanical garden where we will look for monarchs and see examples of pollinator-friendly plantings (field trip attendance is limited.) If you plan to only attend the Garden walk, we will meet at at the Garden's Education Center, located at 3450 Dairy Creek Road. Please arrive a few minutes early, wear a facemask, and bring binoculars for better viewing. PLEASE WEAR YOUR FACE COVERING WHILE VISITING AND PRACTICE 6’ SOCIAL SPACING. PLEASE STAY HOME IF YOU HAVE A COUGH OR FEVER.
